Date: Thursday, May 11, 2017
Time: 9:30am - 6:30pm
Location: Wilson Hall, Room 1057

Dr. Michelle Dion (McMaster, Political Science) and Dr. Laura Stephenson (Western) have organized this workshop to begin a discussion between academics, practitioners and experts from around the world about how best to train our students to conduct cutting-edge research and meet the needs of employers.  The panel topics build upon the ideas Dion and Stephenson present in a recently published article in the Canadian Journal of Political Science.  What are the opportunities and demands that confront our students?  What are the possibilities and innovations for providing suitable training? Three panels and a brainstorming session are planned to help develop answers to these pressing questions.

Thank you to Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, McMaster Office of International Affairs, Canadian Opinion Research Archive (CORA) of Queen’s University, Western University’s Faculty of Social Science, and McMaster University’s Faculty of Social Sciences for supporting this event.
