In Memorium: Mark Sproule-Jones
The Department of Political Science is sad to share the news of the passing of Emeritus Professor Mark Spoule-Jones. Dr. Sproule-Jones joined the Department in 1982 and served over a quarter century until his retirement. He held the V.K. Copps Chair in Urban Studies, which led him to study the remediation of Hamilton Harbour and the Great Lakes. He served twice as the President of the Bay Area Restoration Council, and was named Hamilton Environmentalist of the Year in 2005. His work on the management of common pool resources received its capstone with the publication of The Restoration of the Great Lakes: Promises, Practices, Performances in 2002. Dr. Sproule-Jones is remembered fondly by his colleagues as well as his former students. We send our condolences to his family and friends.
