The Department is sad to announce the passing of Emeritus Professor Peter J. Potichnyj on June 3rd.
Dr. Potichnyj joined McMaster in 1964, and was an original member of the Department of Political Science following the split of the Department of Political Economy. His research and teaching centred on the Soviet and East European politics. Dr. Potichnyj retired in 1995, but continued to dedicate much time and attention to organizations supporting a free and independent Ukraine.
Dr. Potichnyj wrote memoirs, including detailed descriptions of his time in the Ukranian Insurgent Army, which can be found online (https://diasporiana.org.ua/wp-content/uploads/books/12910/file.pdf).
