Parliamentary Internship Programme: Call for Applications
Deadline: January 31, 2021

Every year since 1970, the Parliamentary Internship Programme of the CPSA has welcomed 10 young professionals to Parliament Hill from September through June. Each intern works full-time for both an opposition and government Member of Parliament. Interns learn from academic seminars, write an innovative academic research paper, share their knowledge of Parliament with young Canadians, and take part in legislative study tours.

Interns are selected through a national competition that is open to university or college graduates in all disciplines who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Interns receive a $25,000 stipend and must be able to commit to full-time hours during the ten-month programme. The Programme pays a significant percentage of moving costs for interns from out of province or remote regions. All of the legislative study tours are fully funded and interns receive per diems during these work trips.
