Political Science PhD student elected to McMaster’s Board of Governors

Ghada Sasa will serve as Graduate Student Representative to the university’s most senior corporate body

Jun 26, 2020

The Department of Political Science congratulates Ms. Ghada Sasa, a second-year PhD student in the Department, on her election to McMaster University’s Board of Governors.

Ms. Sasa's doctoral research explores the colonial roots of modern environmentalism and how it can be co-opted to dispossess indigenous peoples worldwide. She investigates ways of decolonizing the environmental movement by delving into indigenous worldviews, lifeways, and struggles that link human rights and ecological justice.

Ms. Sasa is an active member of the McMaster Political Science Graduate Students’ Association (MPSGSA) and has previously served as a Graduate Student Representative to the Department. She will serve a two year term with the Board of Governors beginning July 1, 2020.
