Ben Manshanden (MA in Political Science, McMaster '17) has recently accepted a position with the Alberta Executive Council as an Intergovernmental Officer (Economic and Resource Policy branch). This position involves monitoring pertinent political/policy developments across Canada, liaising with provincial/federal counterparts, drafting communications and conducting policy research/analysis in order to advance Alberta's interests.

Ben says that "My professors in the McMaster Political Science department were incredibly supportive during the course of my Masters degree, introducing me to stimulating ideas and providing expert theoretical and methodological guidance. My experience as a Research Assistant for the Indigenous Futures project led by Drs. Michelle Dion and Chelsea Gabel also helped to prepare me for this opportunity by giving me insight into the research process."

Congratulations, Ben!
